Juvenile Fire Setters Intervention
This is a course provided to everyone for free. It was designed by the Ohio Fire Marshal's Office Prevention Bureau. It is taught to interested firefighters so they can become instructors and bring it back to their jurisdiction. It is for teaching children who have an interest in fire setting from the age of three to sixteen and is broken into different age groups so kids can be taught with appropriate materials and techniques. We have taught nearly 50 children over the past 20+ years with zero repeat offenders.
This course will begin with an interview session with the child and the parent(s) independently and a questionnaire to be filled out by the parent(s) with an effort to learn about the child's possible behavior issues. This initial session will take approximately 2 hours. Depending on what the instructor finds during the interviews the family may be asked to return from three to six times.
Each of those sessions will be approximately 30 minutes. In extreme cases, the family may be
required to seek mental health intervention immediately.
Fire Safety for Children, Adults, and Senior Adults

For younger children, older children, adults and senior adults. Each of those sessions will be approximately 30 minutes. Depending on the size of the group.
Fire and Safety Inspections in the Home
This is a course provided to everyone for free. We would be more than happy to come to your home with a safety checklist and walk through your home with you. During this time, we will point out both fire hazards as well as other types of safety hazards. This will take a minimum of 30 minutes, but we will be available to you as long as needed for questions.
Portable Fire Extinguisher Training
This is a course provided to everyone for free. This can be taught to anyone who is willing and able to use an extinguisher to put out a fire. You will be taught with the use of our digital fire extinguisher simulator. This way we can do it indoors without making the mess caused by real fire extinguishers and there is no smoke or heat. The initial discussion about how and when to use a fire extinguisher will take about 15 minutes. Add approximately one minute for each member of the group that participates.
The London Firefighters Annual Toy Drive
We work alongside the local Department of Job and Family Services to help unfortunate families in the City of London and Madison County who need help making sure all kids get at least three new toys free of costs at Christmas time. Sign-ups for help usually start in mid to late November.
Our Pink Fire Engine
Officially designated as Engine 362, it is wrapped with pink vinyl with the faces of local breast cancer survivors on both sides. It was a joint venture between the City of London Division of Fire and the hospital that was then called Madison County Hospital, Madison Health now. It was once an in-service attack engine but now is only used for special events. We can drive to any breast cancer awareness event. For instance, we take it to the Susan G. Gormen "Race for the Cure" and the Stepanie Speilman "Run, Walk, or Ride for Breast Cancer Awareness" every year. If you call and request it, we will do our best to get it to you. This is also free of cost to the public.
